What’s the difference among pedal-powered bicycle, electric power-auxiliary bicycle and electric bicycle?

 

According to Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, Article 69, slow-moving vehicles are classified and defined as follows:  

1. Bicycle: 

(1) Pedal-powered bicycle 

(2) Electric power-auxiliary bicycle: a type approved two-wheeled vehicle that is powered mainly by human exercise and with electric assistance with a maximum speed of 25 km/hr or less and weighs 40 kg or less. 

(3) Electric bicycle: a two-wheeled vehicle that is powered mainly by electricity, with a maximum speed of 25 km/hr or less, and weighs 40 kg without a battery or 60kg including a battery.
